]TSI Welcome Letter
May 24, 2012
On behalf of the Institute for Training and Development (ITD) and all the Teachers Summer Institute (TSI) faculty and staff, we offer our congratulations on your selection to participate in “The Study of the United States Institute for Secondary School Educators.” We are very much looking forward to this year's institute and we hope that the experience proves to be both professionally and personally enriching for you.
This Summer Institute is funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, of the U.S. Department of State.
In order to help you prepare for the course, we have posted relevant information on our website: www.itdamherst.org. Please check this website regularly, as we may post additional information there as it becomes available.
We would like to publicize your participation in this program on our website and in a document that we will share with other program participants and speakers. We would appreciate if you would send us a short biographical sketch (no longer than one paragraph) and a digital photo of yourself before Monday, June 4, 2012. Please email this information to Abril Navarro at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would prefer your information not be published on our website, please let us know, so we may respect your wishes.
You will arrive at Bradley International Airport (Hartford, Connecticut) on June 15, 2012. ITD staff will be waiting for you at the baggage claim area. As you claim your luggage, look for staff holding “ITD” signs. These staff will assist you and transport you in vans to Amherst, one hour away. We will then help you settle in at Amherst College and orient you to your surroundings.
If no staff person meets you on arrival, please call Edgardo Rothkegel on his cell phone at (413) 221-9325, or the ITD main office at (413) 256-1925.
