Dear Institute Participant:
Congratulations on being selected as a participant in our Study of the United States Institute for Student Leaders from the Western Hemisphere! The U.S. Department of State sponsors this institute, the Institute for Training and Development (ITD) administers it, and St. Bonaventure University hosts it. We are very glad that you will be coming to our university. Although you may not be familiar with western New York, we hope that you will soon find Olean to be your home away from home! This year, the History Department at Bonas (as our university is known) is organizing the institute. The presenters and staff of our institute are excited about meeting you in July.
We look forward to sharing experiences and learning from you throughout our institute. We ask that you read these web pages carefully and note questions that you may wish to ask upon arrival. We intend to cover a large amount of material during the five weeks that you are here. You will arrive at the Buffalo/Niagara International airport on July 7. Institute staff will meet you at the airport and assist you with your arrival and transportation to campus. Our staff will meet you in the concourse area just outside the secure arrival/departure area with signs identifying them as from St. Bonaventure. Our airport is small, so our staff will have no problem finding you. After you have claimed your luggage, you will travel to campus and get settled into the Townhouses (http://www.sbu.edu/campus-life.aspx?id=4108), which will be your home during the St. Bonaventure portion of the Institute. Our staff will help you settle and orient you to your surroundings. All of us are looking forward to meeting you!
