By Sindy Zaldivar, Honduras
I’m Sindy Zaldivar, and I come from Honduras. My profession is Certified Public Accountant, and my passion is volunteering. Currently, I am part of a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial educational assistance to children and young people in my country.
One of the greatest advantages of this program has been the opportunity to meet incredible people from different professional and cultural backgrounds. Interacting with them not only expanded my network but also exposed me to new perspectives and approaches, enriching my understanding of the world around me.
Additionally, the program included a variety of workshops and activities designed to improve my personal and professional development. Relevant topics such as leadership, effective communication, and politics were addressed in a practical and stimulating manner, providing me with tools and skills that I am sure will be invaluable in my professional journey.
I had the opportunity to do my scholarship at Lighthouse Holyoke, a place that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of learning. From the moment I stepped through its doors, I was captivated by the vibrant energy and welcoming atmosphere in this unique learning center.
One of the most striking things for me was the diversity of opportunities that Lighthouse Holyoke offers. Here, people can delve into new ideas and explore a wide range of artistic and academic skills.
But what truly makes Lighthouse Holyoke shine is its staff. From day one, the team of professionals welcomed me with open arms, sharing their experiences and knowledge in a genuine and passionate way.
Their dedication to the organization’s mission is evident in every interaction, and their commitment to the success of the students is inspiring.
Additionally, I had the privilege of meeting two exceptional young people who, in a fascinating twist of fate, transitioned from being students to becoming staff members. Their story is a testimony to the transformative impact that Lighthouse Holyoke has on people’s lives.
My experience at Lighthouse Holyoke was more than just educational; it was transformative. I left with a new appreciation for the power of learning and the importance of having a space where creativity and knowledge intertwine harmoniously. I am grateful for every moment lived and excited about the lasting impact that this experience will have on my professional and personal life.
Sharing is something very valuable because it unites us and makes us stronger together. I am very grateful that they have shared their knowledge with me.
I want to express gratitude to Catherine Gobron for her generosity in opening the doors of this organization and giving me the opportunity to interact and share with the entire Lighthouse team. The passion she demonstrates in everything she does is undeniable and has been a true source of inspiration for me.
